The Escalante 5 maintains the essence of one of Altra's most iconic shoes, incorporating key improvements in comfort, softness and connection to the ground. This new generation features a completely renewed upper with a Knit finish, which provides a more natural, breathable and comfortable fit for daily use, high-paced training and asphalt races.

The big news is in its midsole, which incorporates an evolution of the Altra EGO™ compound, now lighter, softer and more durable. This update allows you to enjoy a more comfortable footprint without losing the feeling of contact with the ground that characterizes the Escalante family. The result is a more fluid, reactive and natural running experience.

The tongue has also been redesigned to improve comfort and fit to the foot, while the new Knit upper offers a very comfortable classic support that adapts to the natural movement of the runner.

As with all Escalantes, Altra's FootShape® Original philosophy is maintained, with a wide toe box that allows natural expansion of the feet, promoting stability, comfort and more efficient biomechanics.
