The first MUNICH brand factory, now abandoned, was the origin of a family business that evolved into a leading name in sports footwear and urban fashion. Founded by Lluís Berneda in 1939, after a difficult period, the company grew from a small shoemaker’s workshop into an established brand. His grandson, Xavier Berneda, current CEO of Bern2Run, grew up surrounded by soles and laces, learning the values of effort, innovation and teamwork. With the name change to MUNICH and the iconic “X”, the company transformed itself into a brand with its own identity.
The Berneda family has created a legacy based on tradition, design and passion, demonstrating that success is the result of constant work and an entrepreneurial vision.
MUNICH’s design philosophy combines traditional craftsmanship, constant innovation and authenticity. With roots in Barcelona, the brand blends its family heritage with a modern vision, highlighting the iconic “X” as a symbol of style and functionality.

MUNICH has consolidated its reputation through efficient and sustainable production. Its main facility in Vilanova d’Espoia (Barcelona), covering 1,750 m² and employing 54 people, combines craftsmanship and technology. It also has a factory in Elche specialising in vulcanisation.
It produces around 250 pairs per day, with 45 minutes required per pair, and stands out for its customisation capabilities, from a single pair to large volumes.
MUNICH has a global logistics network for B2B and B2C customers, with 6 warehouses and a capacity of 281 containers per year. It manages around 21,900 shipments per month.
In Catalonia, it operates with 3 company-owned trucks for internal distribution and deliveries to stores. Its Second Life programme promotes recycling and sustainability, encouraging responsible consumption.
